The sun is shining – sometimes – which means that there’s no excuse not to get out in the garden and see what you can get ready for the Show in just a few months. The Show Schedule is out in both electronic and hard format, so start browsing and see what you can enter.

The committee and all the sub-committees are making sure that everything is in place for another bumper Show. Much of the behind the scenes work is underway to make sure that our policies and procedures are all up-to-date and give guidance on everything we do. A big thank-you to all who have contributed to this area.

In recent weeks you may have come across the dedicated band who’ve been at Westfield Carousel promoting the Society and the Show. Many thanks to the knitters who took part in the World Knitting in Public Day back in June. During the school holidays we saw Maxine, Colleen, Jane and all back there for the Craft for Kids with three sessions a day for all three days. Not sure how many kids took part in total but there was over 50 on the first day alone!

Early Bird tickets are out – if you want to get tickets at the cheapest price, now is the time to grab them whilst the Early Bird sale is on. It won’t be extended, so get in while you can.

During the school holidays, CAHRS sponsored two places at the annual Young Sheep Handlers Expo at Claremont. Congratulations to Alexis and Leila who successfully completed the course. These two were also joined by two of their younger siblings.

Did you know that Jane, our events coordinator has a long history with the Canning Show? She may have only started working with us over the past year but her participation goes way back. In her youth she competed in hacking events at Canning. Her mum also took part as a judge when we had horse events at the Show.
